Early October 2025, Chicago music artist Jay Wood reached out to me & asked if I’d do the honors of designing out the tracklist of his upcoming project “Paradise Don’t Last Forever” which was set to release October 28th. As a big fan of Jay, I jumped on the opportunity immediately.

Photographer @ambercita had already shot the front cover & had some out-takes, so I was able to quickly choose a favorite for the back that I felt complimented the front cover. Jay and I had talked, and he was keen on keeping a hand-drawn, gritty element to the tracklist. The goal for the typography was that it would match the aesthetic of the way the images were captured.

I quickly went to my drawing book, creating a multitude of iterations of the wordmark before ultimately landing on this final page below. Then, after bringing the wordmark to the computer, I felt that a rough typewriter font would pair nicely with the handwritten text. After a few other touch-ups to make sure everything matched the front cover, we got the final product!
